About AU Silver

What we do

AU Silver works across four sides of the same trade, out of one metal pool. We sell to customers across the counter, supply jewellers and resellers wholesale, make pieces to order through our own karigars, and deal in bullion — fine silver bars and coins.

Because it is one pool of metal, the same discipline applies whether you are buying a single payal or taking trade supply: the metal is weighed, the purity is tested, and the price follows the fine weight.

Weight is the unit of account

A sarafa house does not really sell objects; it sells metal, and the workmanship that shaped it. So the weight is the honest part of the transaction and the rupee figure is only ever derived from it. Every quote we give separates the gross weight, anything deducted for stones or beads, the net metal, the tested purity and the resulting fine weight — then applies the day’s rate and shows making and GST as their own lines.

This is not a policy we invented. It is how the bazaar has always reckoned, and the only thing we have done is refuse to hide it behind a round figure.

Made by our own karigars

Custom work is made in-house rather than bought in and marked up. That means we can tell you the weight you are getting before the piece exists, state the wastage honestly, and answer for the workmanship afterwards.

Where we are

We are in Karol Bagh, one of Delhi’s working jewellery markets, and we trade on the same terms as the market around us. The shop is open 11:00 am to 8:00 pm, closed on Monday.

Gold, later

Silver is the house’s trade and the reason it exists. Gold is planned, and the way we quote it will be exactly the same: weight, purity, fine weight, rate.
